How to find us

If you are using a 'sat-nav' system to find us, enter our postcode PE10 0LZ into your equipment. The roadworks at Colsterworth (A1) are not currently recognised by Sat-Nav systems so make sure you follow the road signs for the A151 (Bourne) when you leave the A1. The Sat-Nav will the resume and should guide you to our entrance.

First of all - an apology. There are no BROWN TOURIST SIGNS to direct you to the Castle. Sadly, the Highways Agency don't think there is any justification for them. We think this is a great pity because with brown signs we would be much easier to find. The need for Brown Signs is even more important since the A1 junction has been altered and current Sat-Nav systems are misdirecting our visitors. We hope that the following directions will make things a little easier.

DIRECTIONS from North or Southbound A1

  • At Colsterworth exit take the A151 signposted Bourne. (There is also a Grimsthorpe sign)
  • Enter and drive through Corby Glen on the A151
  • Continue on the A151
  • Grimsthorpe Castle signpost visible after 3 miles- A151
  • Arrive at Grimsthorpe Castle situated on the right.

Grimsthorpe is around 8 miles, or a 10-15 minute drive from the A1

To help you get here Download a PDF copy of the map to print from the link below.

If you want to check the traffic conditions before you set out try the KEEP MOVING website.

If you think we should be allowed BROWN TOURIST SIGNS, please let the man at the Highways Agency know by emailing him at graham.broome@highways.gsi.gov.uk. With your help we could get those much needed signs on the A1. Thank you.
