Explore the 3000-acre parkland, where you can discover a host of wildlife, a lake and medieval woodland. The Grade-I listed gardens are a delight in all seasons and lead to the Walled Garden where we showcase a contemporary exhibition from the Lettering Arts Trust.

Discover a remarkable collection of art, furniture, sculpture and porcelain within the Grade-I listed Castle. Including one of the largest collections of royal thrones outside the Royal Palaces, acquired by the Willoughby family through the hereditary role of Lord Great Chamberlain.

Children will have hours of fun exploring and playing in the Woodland Adventure Playground.
Conquer new heights on multiple climbing frames, test your balance on rope walks and feel the wind in your hair on the zip wire! Parents can join in the fun on the adult ‘trim trail’.
01 April to 12 May
Head down to The Walled Garden this month to enjoy the beauty of fruit tree blossom! Take photos and produce art to enter into our competition!
Enter your paintings before 12 May for the chance to have your Art displayed in the Castle and win a prize!

Join our resident Storyteller, in the Adventure Playground. Mark writes and creates his own stories, as well as adapting classic folk tales and songs. Stories will be told at 11am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm and are approximately 40 minutes long. Included in your Park & Garden ticket.

Enjoy the opportunity to have an exclusive garden tour with the Head Gardener and a private tour of the Castle with our Curator.
Followed by a talk by Guy Deacon CBE about his life with Parkinson’s.

Join The Lettering Arts Trust for a talk and tour of the Art & Memory Collection held in our Walled Garden. This exhibition was launched in 2009 and ran for 7 months. The works are now permanently situated around the UK. More information to come.
Monday 06 May
The Castle, Park & Gardens are open 10.30am to 5.30pm for a splendid Bank Holiday filled with family fun! Discover uninterrupted cycle and walking trails, take a tour around the Castle, explore the beautiful gardens and burn off energy in the Adventure Playground!
Sunday 14 May
Celebrating topiary and inspiring keen gardeners to adopt topiary’s style and structure within their own gardens. Our gardeners will be onsite throughout the day, engaging with visitors and answering questions. Included in your Park & Garden ticket.
Saturday 25 / Sunday 26 May
A multi distance event of solo and team races. Expect a mix of estate roads, limestone tracks and grass trails. Spectators welcome on Saturday but the Castle and Gardens will be closed. £5 car park fee per car for spectators.

Bring the children during half term to enjoy the Adventure Playground, or set up on the lawns for the day with your picnic and a game of rounders.
The March Hare Tea Trailer will be open as well as our Gift Shop so you can take home a souvenir to commemorate your visit!

In the course of the ‘audience’, His Majesty will recount the events of his long reign; telling of his wives and children.
