We do not produce printed material relating to weddings and receptions. The Castle does not have a licence for civil weddings and at present there are no plans to secure a licence. For the past ten years we have hosted a number of wedding receptions in the grounds.

The gardens and grounds can be hired for photographic purposes and there is the facility to use the site for a wedding reception. This is undertaken on the basis that all services are brought in for the occasion, including marquee, catering, security, and other items such as flowers, fireworks, power, etc. We can assist in sourcing these services and would need to approve all plans in advance. There are good quality lavatories at the coach house stable block, which is close to the marquee site. The site facility fee for 2013 would be a minimum of £5,000, and is variable subject to the size of the event, timing and location within the park. Availability between April and September is possible provided it does not clash with any other activities.

Please contact Ray Biggs at the Estate Office if you wish to check the availability of the grounds for your chosen date. He will then arrange for you to visit Grimsthorpe to view the site and discuss your requirements. To reserve a date you will be asked to pay a £1,500 deposit. This is non-refundable. A contract letter will then be sent to you outlining the terms and conditions.
