The Grimsthorpe Estate is centred on Grimsthorpe Castle, and the estate extends to 12,500 acres. Within the estate boundary there are three villages, in which many properties are owned by the estate. With the exception of the woodland within the estate boundary, most residential and farm properties are let. There are around 300 tenants.
The central part of the Drummond Estate in Perthshire is also managed from the Grimsthorpe Estate Office. This encompasses Drummond Castle, its surrounding gardens, which are open to the public, a small estate village and adjacent parkland, agricultural property and woodland.
In addition to the Estate Office staff, there are about 30 full-time staff encompassing activities such as building maintenance, forestry, gardening, security, management and administration.
The staff in the Estate Office tend to become involved in a wide range of activities, as there is frequent contact with estate tenants as well as with members of the public who visit the Castle and Gardens. At Grimsthorpe the Castle is open to the public between the beginning of April and the end of September, and about another 40 part-time staff are employed in various capacities during that period.
There is currently one full time job vacancy at Grimsthorpe, please see below for details.
