Queen’s 90th birthday tea at the Castle

Around 130 ‘Lincs Friends’ gathered at Grimsthorpe on 25th May to raise funds for the Queen’s Patrons’ Fund. After taking a bracing afternoon tea they were welcomed into the Vanbrugh Hall by Mr Toby Dennis, HM Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, to listen to a talk by Francis Dymoke DL on the role of the Queen’s Champion at the Coronation. At least £4,000 was raised on the day, which closed with a drinks reception in the Castle.
