Drive-It-Day

Sunday 24th April

TR Lincs Drive-It-Day

Visit Grimsthorpe today and see these classic cars lined up in the Vanbrugh Courtyard! (Included in your day ticket).

Founded in 1970, The TR Register is one of the most successful one make car clubs in the world. The TR Register caters for the needs of owners, past present and future of the entire range of Triumph TR sports cars from TR2 to TR8 and their associated derivatives Swallow Doretti, Peerless, Warwick, Italia and Grinnall.

The 24th April 2022 is a very significant day in the UK for vintage and classic car owners.  The overarching body that all the vintage and classic car / motor cycle clubs are affiliated to is the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC).  Each year the FBHVC organise a Drive-it-Day to encourage everyone with a vintage or classic vehicle to get out on the road. Many trips and runs will be organised that day up and down the Country.

Last year and again this year the Children’s Charity the NSPCC Childline will benefit from the funds raised by each vehicle buying and displaying a rally plaque.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming TR Lincs and seeing their cars parked in front of the castle.

About TR Lincs

TR Lincs was formed in 2007 from the South Bank membership of the Humber Bridge Group, after a period of growth in numbers and an increasing focus on Lincolnshire-based activity.

The group continues to go from strength to strength, and we try to embrace all the diverse interests of our members. Hopefully, our calendar of events provides something for everyone through the year. In addition, groups of us go off to various local, national and international events as the opportunity arises.

There are the regular monthly meetings, in true car club tradition, which allow us to get together and compare our skills or otherwise at sprocket-nadgering, bumper-buffing and telling tall stories. The Sunday runs can be tests of navigation, clue-solving or even the strength of family bonds! On top of this, we have outings to car events across the county, visits to places of interest and combined runs with neighbouring groups.

The group supports classic motorsport, from cheering on our very own in-house racing driver to attending the Le Mans Classic. For those who enjoy less hectic touring we attend the International and European meetings, and are always looking for any other excuses to exercise our steeds.

So, if you’ve got a TR, think you might like a TR or simply like hanging around TRs, come along and play. Wives, husbands and partners of members are an integral part of our group, and so are always very welcome too. We firmly believe they need a regular airing just as much as our TRs!
