Join us for frightening family fun this October Half Term!

 

Get dressed up in your scariest costume and make a whole day of it with family and friends! There’s so much to do, your day will packed with spooky activities, great fun for all ages!

Pumpkin Picking & Carving 

PLEASE BOOK YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE. 

A small selection of tickets will be available to buy on the day at the ticket office.

Saturday 23, Sunday 24, Wednesday 27, Thursday 28, Saturday 30 & Sunday 31

11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.

 

Follow the “Pumpkin Patch” signs through our Kitchen Garden, into the old tennis courts where you can pick the perfect pumpkin.

Take your pumpkin home, or carve a spooky scene in our pumpkin carving tent located next to the pumpkin patch.

 

*Carving will be overseen by a member of staff, but the overall responsibility of the carving lies with the parent / guardian. Children must be accompanied at all times.

 

Tickets need to be bought in addition to your day ticket. Please click on the button below to buy your ticket and choose your time slot.

Grim Castle Tours

 

Friday 29, Saturday 30 & Sunday 31

 

Included in your Castle, Park & Garden Ticket – TICKETS MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE.

 

Join a Grim Castle Tour led by one of our guides who will tell you stories about the Castle’s ghostly residents, including real life experiences from the staff and family in residence, as well as the spooky tales behind some of our paintings and artefacts.

 

These tours are not suitable for children under 11 and will be in low lighting, led by torch light.

The Tapestry Drawing Room

The Terrifying Tudors 

 

Saturday 23 & Thursday 28

12pm-4pm (last entry 3.15pm)

 

Included in your Castle, Park & Garden Ticket. Season ticket holders and HH members go free.

 

The Tudors return with a chilling twist on their usual appearances. This time, see them in the Castle where they will recall tales of ghosts, ghouls and gruesome executions!

 

The Castle will be open on a free flow basis between 12-4pm. Last entry at 3.15pm. Please click on the button below to buy your ticket.

Slightly Spooky Storytelling in the Castle

 

Sunday 24 and Wednesday 27 

11am, 1.30pm & 3pm

Included in your Castle, Park & Gardens Ticket. TICKETS MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE.

 

Mark the Storyteller is back, this time with spine-tingling tales in the Castle. Suitable for all ages (but mostly children!), this hour long activity will take you on a journey throughout the Castle, where painting and stories are bought to life!

Spooky Trail 

 

Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 and Wednesday 27 – Sunday 31

 

Included in your Park & Gardens ticket.

 

Dress in your scariest Halloween costume and brave our Spooky Trail through the Oaks Wood! How many creepy characters will you spot?

 

The Spooky Trail starts from our Adventure Playground and will be available on every open day 10.30am-5pm. (Free of charge, usual Park charges apply).

Pumpkin Hunt

 

Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 and Wednesday 27 – Sunday 31

 

Head to the Gift Shop on arrival and purchase an activity sheet from the for only £1. Adventure out onto our Pumpkin Hunt around the gardens and grounds. Every entry wins a prize and will be entered into a grand draw!

  • If you have booked a time slot entry for Storytelling or Grim Castle Tours, your time slot indicates your entry to the Castle only. You are welcome to enter the Park & Gardens at any time from 10.30am.
  • Season Tickets holders can enter their Season Ticket number under “Promotional Code” for a full discount for Grim Castle Tours and the Storyteller. Be sure to bring your Season Ticket with you on the day.
  • HH members do not need to book entry for the Park & Gardens on any day, or for the Castle on Saturday 23rd or Thursday 28th, but normal charges apply for the Castle on other days.
  • Please note that the Grim Castle Tours are not suitable for under 11s and are in low lighting, led by torch light.
  • Pumpkin Carving will be overseen by a member of staff but the responsibility for carving lies with the parent. Children must be accompanied by a parent/adult at all times.
  • Please follow government guidance when you visit, and follow all signage on site. Face coverings are still encouraged in indoor spaces, unless you’re exempt.
  • Parking is free. Campervans are welcome but not permitted to stay overnight and we’re unable to welcome caravans at this time.
  • Tickets are for your use only and cannot be resold.
