A Regency gilded mahogany open armchair and footstool supplied by Russell, Valance & Evans in 1820 for Queen Caroline’s use as a resting chair at her trial in the House of Lords in 1820.
‘A Handsome carved Grecian Chair gilt in burnished Gold for the Use of the Queen at the Throne end of the House (£12.13s.) and a gilt footstool with lions paw feet (£3.3s.)’. It was covered with scarlet cloth by Elliott & Francis.
